Over the weekend, we closed the doors to our Kendig Square store for the last time. It was bittersweet; even with months of preparation, even knowing the exciting things ahead, we still weren't quite ready to see it go. What did cushion the gloom we were feeling, however, was the incredible community outpouring we saw in the final days and especially the last day. It seemed like every person who ever shopped at Just Press Play Kendig Square came back for one last visit. We were touched to hear stories about kids who grew up shopping there, now bringing kids of their own to our store. We were amazed that some shoppersĀ drove 6 hours to be there. And we were humbled that so many people thanked us forĀ inspiring them to begin collecting. It's been our honor to share these hobbies and our passion for them with everyone who walks through our doors.
When all was said and done, there wasn't much left in the store! A few sports games, some obscure toys, some random cables. Everything else was claimed and we're thrilled that so many people took home something to remember that store by. We hope you'll remember it fondly like we do, and that you'll still feel at home when you're shopping at our other locations (or here, on our new online store!) now that it's gone.Ā
There are big things on the horizon for Just Press Play and e-commerce is just the beginning. We're grateful to have you on this journey with us and can't wait to share our exciting plans for 2025 and beyond.
